Introduction

I first learned of Rocket when I was contacted by the animal shelter in Birdsboro, PA. They had received both Rocket and his sister. As the PA coordinator for Malinois Rescue I went to pick up the pair so that they could be placed in foster homes. When I got to the shelter Rocket's sister had already been adopted. But with Rocket's over the top drive they did not feel secure in placing him so they released him to me. I tried like crazy to find a foster home for him on the drive home but no luck.

I spent the first five nights sleeping on the office floor with him and in that time I did line up a foster home for him with Jeanine in WI. Transport was arranged but at the last hour I called it off, I could not part with him. Sorry Jeanine!!

It was obvious that he needed an activity but due to some physical limitations I needed an activity where I did not need to run. I discovered the Keystone Dock Dogs Club and also discovered to my delight that a member with a pond lived very close to me. Rocket started competing in March of 2009 and earned his regional Elite title at the Lily Pons event. July 2009 at the National event in Bel Air, MD Rocket earned his National Masters title.
